Gaziantep Futbol Kulübü, commonly known as Gaziantep FK, is a football club based in Gaziantep, founded in 1988 as Sankospor and later renamed Gaziantep FK. The club has gradually risen through the Turkish football leagues and reached the Süper Lig for the first time in the 2019–20 season. Since then, it has established itself as a competitive mid-table team, aiming to become a stable presence in the top division.
The team plays its home matches at Kalyon Stadium, opened in 2017 with a capacity of around 35,000. The stadium is modern and designed to host large crowds, reflecting the city’s ambition to have a prominent football club. Before that, Gaziantep FK played at smaller local grounds, but Kalyon Stadium has become the club’s permanent home.
