Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü is a football club from Istanbul, founded in 1907 in the Kadıköy district. It is one of Turkey’s most successful and popular clubs, part of the “Big Three” alongside Galatasaray and Beşiktaş. The team has won over 25 Süper Lig titles and multiple Turkish Cups and Super Cups. Internationally, its best result came in the 2007–08 UEFA Champions League when they reached the quarter-finals, and in 2013 they made the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.

The club plays its home matches at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Kadıköy, on the Asian side of Istanbul. The stadium, with a capacity of over 47,000, has been their home since 1908 and has undergone major renovations, making it one of the most modern grounds in Turkey. It was also the venue for the 2009 UEFA Cup Final.

Istanbul, the city Fenerbahçe represents, is Turkey’s largest and most influential city, spanning both Europe and Asia. Fenerbahçe’s rivalry with Galatasaray, known as the “Intercontinental Derby,” is one of the fiercest in world football, symbolizing not just sporting competition but cultural and social divides within the city. Fans of the club, known as “Fenerbahçeliler” or “Sarı Kanaryalar” (Yellow Canaries), are among the most passionate in the country.
