Founded in 1899, Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the traditionally strong clubs in Germany. The club enjoyed its greatest success in 1959 when it won the German national title and reached the final of the European Cup in 1960, where it lost to Real Madrid. In more recent years, Frankfurt has enjoyed renewed success by winning the DFB-Pokal in 2018 and the UEFA Europa League in 2022, putting it firmly back on the European map.
Eintracht Frankfurt plays its home games at Deutsche Bank Park, previously known as the Waldstadion. The stadium has been modernised several times and has a capacity of over 50,000 spectators. It is located in the middle of a wooded area south of the city and has also been used during major tournaments such as the 2006 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship.
