FC Utrecht is a football club from the city of Utrecht. The club was founded in 1970 after a merger of three Utrecht clubs: DOS, Elinkwijk and Velox. FC Utrecht plays in Stadion Galgenwaard, which is located just outside the city centre.

The club has been playing in the Eredivisie since its foundation and is known as a stable sub-top team. They have won the KNVB Cup three times and regularly play European football. FC Utrecht has a fanatical following, especially from the city and the surrounding region.

The club is known for its fighting spirit and for making it difficult for top clubs, especially at home in De Galgenwaard. The atmosphere at home games is often fierce and passionate. Well-known former players include Dirk Kuyt, Wesley Sneijder (youth academy), and Jean-Paul de Jong.
