easyJet is one of Europe’s best-known low-cost airlines. The company was founded in 1995 by British entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou, with the aim of making flying affordable for everyone. The first slogan was “Flying for the price of a pair of jeans”.
easyJet flies to more than 150 destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Its home base is London Luton, but it also has many hubs at other major airports, such as Amsterdam Schiphol, Geneva, Berlin, Milan and Paris.
easyJet’s formula is simple: low ticket prices, fast turnaround times and as much efficiency as possible. Extras such as hold luggage, in-flight dining or seat reservations are optional and cost extra. This makes it attractive to budget-conscious travellers — from backpackers to business customers.
The fleet consists mainly of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, with a modern and recognisable orange-white livery. The company also focuses on sustainability, including investing in more efficient aircraft and CO₂ compensation programs.
easyJet is a major player in European aviation and is known for its reliability, user-friendly app and good value for money within the low-cost segment.
